I don't know why the ipone sees the comment box as a text opportunity, but not the post box; I'll fix it on a computer later today while my comrade is working.
Yesterday, we drove around Denver (my ipone got us lost - figures when you trust technology - on the way to the REI flagship store), shopper the famous Pearl street in Bolder, which probably had more venders with guitar cases to receive payment than cash registers. Really cool place, other than the creepy bona fide hippies.
We ate at an amazing pizza place in bolder (name?), and then pedalled on to lovely Estes in the evening. I am reminded how much I love this place, with its charming appreciation of the beauty surrounding it. Joy took me to her favorite spot - a tiny, set away park next to the mountain stream.

Today marks the anniversery of Chris's and my defeat of Longs Peak (did you know that, Beeb?), and I'm kind of overwhelmed that I'm here exactly a year later. That 16 hours of triumph followed by scourging, pride followed by humbling blows, elation follwed by despair was an incredible journey to go through with my then newlywed hubs. If anyone doesn't know the story, in brief, we started at the trailhead at 2:30am, reached the summit (14,259 I believe) at 10:30, where the altitude turned my stomach into an evil force set to undo me. We had to stop literally every 15 steps for most of the way down. When I was finally able to make myself throw up, that enabled me to go about 5 minutes before doing it again. Chris was so amazingly wonderful, patient, and encouraging the whole time while I was considering a helicopter for escape from death, and Dad came and relieved me of my pack with a few miles to go, even tho he'd been hiking all day. The men in my life proved valient that day.

One year later, Chris is at home due to school :( and Dad is in Ok getting ready to meet me in Jackson this weekend, so not sure if Joy and I are going to try to tackel Longs. We're going on a short hike this morning, strting at Bear Lake and going up to Emerald Lake (about 3 miles round trip). A good warm up, and it's supposed to be lovely, so hopefully I'll post pictures this afternoon while Joy's working.

would you please learn how to spell iPhone...

"Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God. It is the quickening of the conscience by his holiness; the nourishment of mind with his truth; the purifying of imagination by his beauty; the opening of the heart to his love; the surrender of will to his purpose -- all this gathered up in adoration, the most selfless emotion of which our nature is capable." ~William Temple
